KEMPTVILLE — A pair of $1,500 scholarships are up for grabs from the Kemptville College Alumni Association. The organization is calling for applications from students at accredited colleges who entered their second year in a food- or agricultural-related program in September 2025.
Awarded in February, the annual scholarship was recently increased by $500 over the amount previously granted.
Preference is given to students with a relative who graduated from Kemptville College, but the applicant can also provide the name of an employer or family friend who graduated from the school, according to the Association.
Fill out the application online at www.kcalumni.ca/scholarship or download a paper copy from the same link.
Among other straightforward questions, the applicant’s submission must answer — in about 100 words — where they “hope to be in five years.”
Deadline to apply is Jan. 31, 2026. The successful applicants will be notified on Feb. 7.
The last two recipients of the scholarship were Ethan Ringelberg of Troy, Ontario, and Katelyn Jackson of Gananoque. Ringelberg was earning his Farm Equipment/Heavy Equipment Technician diploma at Conestoga College in Guelph. Jackson was in the Animal Science Technology with a Dairy Major program at Lakeland College in Vermilion, Alberta.
The University of Guelph shut down the Kemptville College campus 10 years ago, ending post-secondary and agricultural education at the site after nearly a century. The Kemptville College Alumni Association has continued to foster the legacy of the closed school.
