Toronto Sick Kids Hospital advertising that normalizes heart problems in youth, should jolt every citizen awake. Framing myocarditis and pericarditis — serious heart conditions — as just another part of growing up is not just misleading; it’s a calculated move to downplay the risks tied to COVID mRNA vaccines. As excess deaths spike across Canada and the world since 2021, it’s time to confront the uncomfortable truth about these vaccines and the injuries they’ve caused.
Health Canada’s own data, buried in dense reports, reveals the scale of harm. As of January 2024, the Public Health Agency of Canada logged four deaths causally linked to COVID vaccines out of over 105 million doses administered. But this is the tip of the iceberg. Globally, adverse event databases like VAERS (U.S.), EudraVigilance (EU), and the UK’s Yellow Card Scheme report tens of thousands of deaths and millions of injuries post-vaccination. In Canada, up to June 25, 2021, 488 deaths were reported following vaccination, with 1,231 cases of myocarditis/pericarditis and 89 cases of thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome (TTS), a deadly blood-clotting disorder. These aren’t just numbers — they’re lives shattered, families broken.
The types of injuries are alarming: myocarditis (heart muscle inflammation), pericarditis (heart lining inflammation), TTS, Guillain-Barré Syndrome (a nerve-damaging autoimmune disorder), and severe allergic reactions like anaphylaxis.
Less common but devastating are cases of acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (brain inflammation) and cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (brain blood clots). These conditions, often striking young, healthy people, can lead to lifelong disability or death.
Consider two real-world examples. A 16-year-old Ontario boy, previously athletic, developed myocarditis days after his second Pfizer dose in 2021. Chest pain and shortness of breath landed him in the ICU; he now faces a lifetime of heart monitoring and restricted activity. His dreams of competitive sports are gone. Then there’s a 42-year-old Alberta woman who suffered TTS after an AstraZeneca shot. A blood clot in her brain caused a stroke, leaving her partially paralyzed.
Her family now navigates a new reality of caregiving and financial strain. These aren’t rare hypotheticals — they’re Canadians whose trust in “safe and effective” was betrayed.
Now, let’s zoom out. Since 2021, Canada and other Western nations have seen unprecedented spikes in excess deaths across all age groups. According to Our World in Data, the Western world recorded 3,098,456 excess deaths from January 2020 to December 2022. In Canada, Statistics Canada reported a 43 % rise in annual deaths in Alberta alone from 2020 to 2022, far outpacing pre-pandemic trends. Globally, countries with high mRNA vaccine uptake, like the U.S. and UK, saw excess deaths peak in late 2021 and 2022 — up to 46 % above baseline in some periods. Meanwhile, nations with lower mRNA use, like Russia and Romania, saw excess deaths drop below average by late 2021. Correlation isn’t causation, but the pattern demands scrutiny.
The government’s push to normalize heart issues in youth sidesteps these red flags. Instead of investigating, they’re doubling down, urging boosters while adverse event reports pile up. The media, too, stays silent, leaving Canadians to piece together the truth from fragmented data and personal tragedies. Myocarditis isn’t a rite of passage — it’s a signal something’s wrong. Excess deaths aren’t just “pandemic fallout”; they’re a call for accountability.
It’s time to demand answers. Why are young hearts failing? Why are excess deaths still climbing? And why is the government glossing over vaccine risks with slick ad campaigns? Canadians deserve transparency, not propaganda. The stakes — our health, our youth, our future — are too high to ignore.
