PORT PERRY — A Port Perry cow has been named the top cow in the province by Ontario Holstein.
Each year, points are given to bred and owned cows through a formula based on classification, long-time production, lactations, all-Ontario nominations and superior lactations and progeny.
The top cow in the province was Highview Rambo Tanner, owned by the Evans Family at Port Perry in Ontario County. Tanner has had 12 lactations and produced more than 118,000 kgs of milk and had a score of 93 for feet and legs and 92 for dairy strength.
