Brash and costly thefts and vandalism are a perennial summertime nuisance to farmers. Here are three unsolved cases last month:
In the early morning of July 4, a Jeep or pickup truck drove through three fences on Kitchen School Road in Brant County. The owner awoke to the damage and several escaped cattle.
At about noon on July 17, a $9,000 Honda ATV was stolen from a bean field on Halls Hill Line in Huron County. The owner returned from inspecting his field to find a white male, about 40-year-old, black-goateed suspect heading east on the ATV on Zion road.
On July 29, a Norfolk County farmer found a damaged pickup truck in his corn field causing $5,000 damages to his crops. OPP said the vehicle was stolen from the Oxford County area.
