For some, the end of summer means back to school, falling leaves and harvest. But for many dairy guys, it’s also the start of Holstein show season.
Most counties hold their shows in August and September. George, Jim and Nathan Thompson of Cavanaleck Farms Ltd. at Belmont, Ont. were the big winners this year, owning the grand, reserve and honourable mention at the Middlesex Show on Aug. 7.
Here are the grand champions, reserve and honourable mention cows from the 10 Western Ontario county shows that took place in August and September. The only county not included in this list is Haldimand-Norfolk, which was scheduled to take place Oct. 8.
