KITCHENER — A Southwestern Ontario ag-tech company just got a major boost from a big industry player.
BinSentry, a Kitchener company that offers grain and feed bin monitoring services, just partnered with Cargill last month. The industry giant, with roughly $120 billion in annual revenue, announced last month it would be the sole distributor for BinSentry.
The company offers remote monitoring of bin-levels for feed mills, a hands-off solution designed to increase efficiency and improve safety. Remote, solar-powered monitors track levels of feed in bins. The company’s software on the back-end lets it predict when and by how much the bin needs to be refilled. Remote monitoring also eliminates the dangerous need for employees to check bin levels manually.
It’s just the latest in a busy year of fundraising for the startup, which only started in 2017. By last year, they’d installed over 1,000 sensors.
