TECUMSEH — Jobin Farms at Tecumseh, just east of Windsor, had 2,350 people over for breakfast on June 22. The Farm & Food Care Ontario Breakfast on the Farm event to educate non-farmers about farming included 130 volunteers who served: 3,400 pancakes, 1,512 cartons of white and chocolate milk, 2,300 pork sausages, 2,000 pieces of back bacon, 3,600 medium eggs, 11 cases of fresh vegetables and 26 litres of maple syrup. One of the big attractions was the Ontario Greenhouse Vegetable Growers’ greenhouse on wheels. The next Breakfast on the Farm will be on Sept. 14 at Barrie Hill Farms, an apple and berry farm, at Barrie.
