$796,000 IN CANNABIS PLANTS SEIZED – 3 PEOPLE CHARGED
OPP Anticipate Further Arrests
(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – On Wednesday, October 7, 2020, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand/Norfolk County Community Street Crime Unit along with members of County of Brant and Oxford Community Street Crime Unit and the Provincial Joint Cannabis Enforcement Team executed a search warrant at a Simcoe, Norfolk County address.
During the course of the search warrant, three individuals were taken into custody without incident. As result, officers seized approximately $796,000 in cannabis plants and approximately $20,400 in processed cannabis.
Charged with possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling and cultivate, propagate or harvest cannabis plant at a place that is not their dwelling house is the following individuals.
- 32-year-old Anuchit ZORUM of Norfolk County, Ontario,
- 33-year-old Xiao Jun HUANG of Markham, Ontario, and
- 57-year-old Cheng VIRAVOUTH of Brantford, Ontario.
All are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe at a later date.
The investigation is ongoing and police anticipate further arrests surrounding this investigation.
