BRADFORD — A 77-year old Bradford-area vegetable farmer was killed after being struck by a tractor last month.
According to South Simcoe Police Service, Mario Palumbo was killed after being run over by his own tractor on Aug. 15. The cause of death was confirmed by a post-mortem investigation.
Palumbo was a member of the Holland Marsh Growers Association, said executive director Jody Mott. He was “very well-known and respected,” also known for growing Swiss Chard and Romaine lettuce. The association is a community of 125 farms on 7,000 acres of low-lying land among the richest land in Ontario.
