PAIN COURT — The International Plowing Match organizers are looking to break at least six Guinness Book of World Records at this year’s event, to be held Sept. 18-22 at Pain Court in Chatham-Kent.
Some of the records include the largest egg and spoon race, the most people bobbing for apples, the most people eating corn on the cob at once and making the world’s largest Caesar drink.
IPM chair Leon Leclair told Farmers Forum that the IPM is trying to get permission to use rapper Snoop Dogg’s 500-litre glass to make it official.
Besides the plowing matches, the event will also include an auctioneer’s challenge, dancing tractors and a 50-50 draw, with hopes the winning ticket can take home at least $100,000. About 80,000 people are expected to attend over the five-day event. Tickets for adults are $15 until Sept. 15 or $20 at the gate, and $5 for children six to 15 years old.
