LINDSAY — The Victoria Beef Farmers have served up $5,000 worth of hamburger to their Lindsay-area local food bank during this pandemic.
In 2020, the not-for-profit group — based in the former Victoria township — donated $2,000 in hamburger to Kawartha Lakes Food Source. They followed up this spring with a further quantity worth $3,000. The ground beef donations were procured through local butcher shops, says local beef farmer Jim King.
“As an organization, we take great pride in being able to give back to our community. The Victoria Beef Farmers supply show sticks to new 4-H members, as well as offer bursary opportunities for university, college and trade students.”
