OTTAWA — The Franco-Ontarian Farmers’ Union has launched its 2021 young agricultural scholarship program and plans to award a combined $15,000.
The application period is now open, Sept. 28 through Oct. 29, 2021, notes the Union des Cultivateurs Franco-Ontariens (UCFO) in a press release.
Three $1,000 scholarships will go to students with strong potential to become the next Franco-Ontarian leaders in agriculture, and two $6,000 scholarships will go to candidates with superior entrepreneurial skills who are committed to an agricultural business project.
“This year, the Committee for the next generation of agriculture doubled the amount of scholarships,” Danik Lafond, Director General of UCFO, pointed out.
The result of a partnership between the UCFO and the Franco-Ontarian Foundation (FFO), the program and dates back to 2006.
