ALNWICK HALDIMAND — Three people were charged after police conducted a Cannabis Act raid Sept. 28 that turned up 1,511 plants, 1,229 pounds of bud and 280 pounds of shake at a County Rd. 22 address in rural Alnwick Haldimand Township.
According to Peterborough/Northumberland OPP, Saiying Hu, 49, of Markham, Guohua Wang, 51, of Unionville, and local township resident Philip Nelson, 54, of Roseneath, were released to appear Nov. 3 in Cobourg court on Cannabis Act charges.
All three are accused of possession of cannabis for the purpose of distribution, and cultivating illicit cannabis, under the Act, according to police.
The OPP Community Street Crime Units (CSCU), OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the OPP Canine Unit assisted in executing the warrant.
