LISTOWEL — The 16-year-old operator of an all-terrain vehicle died in hospital more than a week after a June 12 collision with a pickup truck on a country road in rural Perth County.
On June 23, the OPP reported that the Gowanstown youth succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash on Line 87 at Road 175. Police have not revealed the victim’s identity.
“At this time, no further information will be released. The investigation is still ongoing,” Constable Kimberly Lyon told Farmers Forum on June 27.
The teen’s reported death was followed by another ATV fatality in Ontario. A lone rider rolled over June 24 in Haliburton County, in Eastern Ontario, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
