HURON COUNTY — In unrelated events, two small planes inadvertently landed on farmers’ fields in Huron County last month.
A 25-year-old student pilot, flying alone, made an emergency landing in a farmer’s field outside Goderich on Oct. 10.
The pilot had engine trouble and was forced to touch down in a field just north of Bayfield Road, near Tipperary Line around 5 p.m.
The pilot was not injured and the plane was not damaged.
A second small multi-passenger plane had a rough landing on an already harvested farmers’s field in East Huron on Oct. 5. The 68-year-old pilot suffered minor injuries after over-shooting a small runway.
