LAKESHORE — A harrowing incident this morning in Lakeshore Municipality left a twin-trailer transport on its side and splayed across Naylor Side Road, a passenger vehicle resting in a nearby ditch further up the roadway. The collision sent two people to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Lakeshore OPP say the Nov. 15 incident unfolded shortly after 8:50 a.m. between County Road 46 and South Middle Road.
A photo released by the detachment shows corn spilled out of the flopped-over truck, with long, swerving skid marks leading up to its resting place blocking both lanes of traffic. In the foreground, the passenger vehicle is visible in the ditch.
Police confirmed the driver and passenger of the car were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured.
Naylor Side Road was closed while debris from the collision was cleaned up, a process expected to last several hours.
