TORONTO — An Angus heifer sold for a five-year high at the Royal Elite All Breeds beef sale at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair on Nov. 4.
Anderson’s Proven Queen 705, an Angus heifer, was purchased by Hunter Angus of Missouri for $31,000, the highest-selling animal at the show in at least five years.
Two other Angus animals sold for at least $15,000. Premier Hasson Empress 706, an Angus heifer, was purchased by Mainstream Genetics at Watrous, Sask. for $19,000, while OHL Check Book 0187C, an Angus bull, was purchased by Gilchrist Farms, at Lucknow, Ont. for $15,000.
The highest-selling non-Angus lot was a Hereford bull, Wll Ernest Cider 18E, and was purchased by Semex Canada at Guelph, Ont. for $13,500.
