Ontario Pork’s point-of-purchase branding campaign got a big boost last month, with 200 Loblaw, Zehrs, Your Independent Grocer, and valu-mart stores putting out packaging labels, posters, and shelf dividers to attract local-conscious consumers. Started as a pilot project at 11 retailers and two farmgate locations in January 2014, there is now signage labelling pork raised and processed in Ontario in 324 retailers, restaurants, and farms. One retailer partly credited the logo campaign for a 22 per cent increase in pork sales from year to year.
