CHESTERVILLE — There’s a community of people around Chesterville who grow and save their own vegetable and flower seeds. These aficionados are set to gather for an annual seed swap and other enlightening activities at the Chesterville Legion on Sat., March 21.
Organizer Debbie DeCooman calls it ‘Seedy Saturday.’
The event, which runs 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., includes a presentation on broom-making and growing sorghum broom straw. Another presenter, Shauna Wannamaker, will talk about a local butterfly project and gardening practices to preserve the monarch species.
Approximately 18 vendors will have booths in keeping with the event’s sustainable living and gardening vibe. Lunch will be available in return for a donation. Inquire about available booth space by emailing the organizer at debbied@storm.ca
