OTTAWA A group of scam artists has been targeting Ottawa Valley Farm Show exhibitors. A group called National Travel Associates contacted exhibitors, offering blocks of rooms at low prices at local hotels, claiming to be calling on the farm shows behalf. However, the farm show does not book blocks of rooms. Other shows have reported this same problem with the National Travel Associates for the past few years, including shows in New Jersey, Las Vegas, and Florida. Early last year, some farm show exhibitors received a letter from a Slovakian company called Event Fair, asking exhibitors for updated information for an exhibitor index. Those who responded were charged for having a listing on the site, in the hope many would just pay the bill without looking into it.
