GUELPH-ERAMOSA — A motorist was arrested in Guelph-Eramosa Township after he was spotted driving a red passenger vehicle “aggressively” through a farm field, damaging the property in the process.
The involved vehicle initially travelled “at a high rate of speed” on a walking trail near Schuett Road and Wellington Road 86 before proceeding into the field, according to Wellington County OPP. Officers responded to the March 25 complaint around 7:40 p.m., ultimately apprehending the vehicle and driver on Highway 6 near Fergus at about 8:15 p.m.
The detachment reports that Colin Michael Fischer, 33, of Fergus is charged with impaired driving, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and a count of mischief – destroy or damage property.
Immediately deprived of his driver’s licence for 90 days as well as losing his wheels for seven days on the spot, the accused was set to appear April 13 in Guelph court.
