Firefighters work to extinguish the Dec. 26 blaze at Skuce Repairs.
EDWARDS — A farm fundraiser will donate its proceeds to Skuce Repairs, a farm equipment repair shop, south of urban Ottawa, that lost most of its property in a Boxing Day fire.
The fundraiser will be held June 12 at Stanley’s Olde Maple Lane Farm. Earl Stanley, owner of the sugarbush, and a group of local farmers came up with the idea to help the Skuce family rebuild the shop they lost. It will be hosted with Vintage Iron & Traditions of Eastern Ontario, a non-profit rural heritage conservation group.
The 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. event features an auction by James Auction Service, a tractor pull, live music, vintage tractors and food and beverages. Auction items will be donated by local businesses. Admission is by donation at the gate.
