Painting to be auctioned

OTTAWA — This year’s Ottawa Valley Farm Show artist got her start when she was seven years old, painting on her grandfather’s farm in England when her family sent her there to escape the bombing raids during the Second World War.

Titled ‘wild horses,’ the painting from Russell’s Joan Hopkins will be auctioned during the prestigious pedigreed seed sale on March 12 at the EY Centre in Ottawa, with net proceeds going to the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario. The seed sale has raised more than $100,000 for the hospital over the years.
