GUELPH — Three of the six OMAFRA crop specialist positions have been filled following a wave of retirements.
The new corn industry program lead is Ben Rosser, a former research technician with the University of Guelph, where he focused on corn agronomic practices. Rosser has a M.Sc. in plant agriculture from the University of Guelph and will be based at the university. Rosser can be reached at 519-824-4120 ext. 54865 or by email at ben.rosser@ontario.ca. He’s replacing Greg Stewart, who retired in March to work with Maizex Seeds.
Canola and edible bean specialist Meghan Moran is the former Grain Farmers of Ontario research co-ordinator. Moran has a M.Sc. in plant agriculture and will also be based in Stratford. OMAFRA research analyst Joanna Follings is the new cereals specialist. She has a M.Sc. in weed science from the University of Guelph and will be based in Stratford. Follings can be reached at 519-271-8180 or by email at joanna.follings@ontario.ca. She is replacing Peter Johnson, who retired Feb. 4.
