METCALFE — The Metcalfe Fair didn’t skip a beat as it returned in full form for the first time in two years during the first weekend of October. The fair’s 166th edition tapped into pent-up demand for large gatherings and events in the community south of urban Ottawa. Big crowds turned out and competitors were plentiful in the regional 4-H dairy and beef shows on Saturday.
