Melancthon Township barn fire deemed non-suspicious

DUFFERIN COUNTY — No injuries to humans or animals occurred as a result of a barn fire in Melancthon Township, according to local authorities.

Dufferin OPP report attending the Aug. 17 scene shortly after 6:45 p.m., along with firefighters with the Mulmer-Melancthon and Shelburne fire departments. The barn was completely engulfed in flames by that time.

The fire chief advised that the fire was non-suspicious and most likely caused by farm equipment in the barn.
