The Canadian Cattle Identification agency says supply chain issues continue to affect availability of livestock identification tags. The agency oversees Canada’s traceability program says its distributor, CDMV, is still receiving weekly shipments but not at a normal rate to keep up with demand. Some products are back ordered as a result.
The agency urges producers to still place orders on its webstore — tags.canadaid.ca/en/index.sn — even if items are shown as being on back order — to secure a place in the queue. Orders will be filled in sequence as product becomes available. Some items are also subject to a weekly purchase allotment to ensure fair distribution amid short supplies.
The agency also advises checking with local authorized tag dealers, as some may have inventory in store. See the dealer list www.canadaid.ca/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Dealer-List.pdf
