LINDSAY: Man convicted of dealing livestock without a licence
LINDSAY — Allan Stirling, of Little Britain, was convicted of being engaged in business as a livestock dealer without a licence, contrary to section 2(a) of the Livestock and Livestock Products Act. The offence occurred between May 11, 2024 and August 3, 2024.
On January 27, 2025, Stirling pled guilty before Justice of the Peace Ronald Prestage in Lindsay Provincial Offences Court. He was fined $2,000 plus a 25-per-cent victim fine surcharge, totalling $2,500.
Background: During an unrelated investigation, investigators with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness learned that Allan Stirling may have been dealing in cattle without a licence, as required under the Livestock and Livestock Products Act (LLPA).
The Regulatory Compliance Unit opened an investigation and determined that Stirling did not hold a licence as a livestock dealer. Further investigation revealed that Stirling had actively purchased and sold over 40 cattle between May 11, 2024 and August 3, 2024 as an unlicensed livestock dealer.
