ANCASTER — Jersey aficionados are going ahead with their 2021 national show despite the cancellation of the Royal Winter Fair.
Instead of the usual Toronto venue, the best of the breed will compete Friday, Nov. 12 through Saturday, Nov. 13, in Ancaster, Jersey Canada’s Board of Directors has announced.
“A national show is invaluable in promoting the organization and the Jersey breed to the world. We look forward, along with Jersey Canada staff and committee members, to hosting an exciting and successful event,” said Jersey Canada President Joanne Edwards:
The organization says it will follow public health guidelines to ensure the safety of participants and that further details will follow in the coming weeks.
The decision to proceed independently of the cancelled Royal is in line with the earlier example of Holstein Canada, which announced this month that its national show will go ahead Nov. 17-20 in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec.
