ONTARIO — Jersey Canada has added two new Ontario extension reps to deliver more farm-level support to breeders in the province. Veteran breeders Nick Groot of Ingersoll and Michael Bols of Russell are part of the organization’s relaunched field services initiative.
Drawing on their long experience and knowledge, the duo will share advice on management of Jerseys, breeding topics, nutrition, and dairy education outreach at agricultural schools.
Mike Bols and his wife Monique own and operate Drentex Jerseys, an award-winning herd.
Nick Groot, his wife Trudy and their business partner Jos Heinsbroek owned and operated Grobrook farms for 35 years. They dispersed their highly recognized herd in 2021.
