OTTAWA — The estimated value of farmland and buildings per acre in Ontario is $9,580, according to an OMAFRA report released last month, based on Statistics Canada’s 2016 Census of Agriculture.
The report, Ratio of Rental Rate to Value, calculated estimated value by dividing the total market value of land and buildings by the number of acres.
Halton region leads 49 counties and regions at $27,306 per acre, while Rainy River in Northern Ontario is 49th at $1,038 per acre.
