March 5: Benjamin Samplonius, 27, died when a tree he was moving on the bucket of a tractor moved and crushed him at Dutton-Dunwich, about 40 minutes southwest of London.
March 27: Gary Rush, 62, died when he became trapped in a silo and suffocated in Wilmot Township, 20 minutes from Kitchener.
May 8: Reini Simonis, 44, died when he was pinned by farm machinery at Thames Centre, near London.
June 16: Jean-Paul Papineau, 58, was tending to a field fire when he suffered burns to his upper body near Lakeshore, 35 minutes east of Windsor.
Aug. 18: Emiel DHulster, 56, died when the three-wheeled fertilizer spreader he was on slipped down a 23-metre embankment and then flipped into a large pond on a tobacco farm at Delhi.
Aug. 19: Laurie Firlit, 57, at Milton, about 50 minutes west of Toronto, died when the riding lawn mower she was on flipped over on her family farm into a small creek, trapping her underneath.
Aug. 29: Emily Trudeau, 7, died when she fell from and was struck by a moving tractor on her parents beef farm near Tweed, north of Belleville.
Sept. 4: An Amish man died when he fell nine metres from a barn roof that was under construction at Milverton, about 45 minutes west of Kitchener.
Sept. 19: Antoon Temolder, 87, died when an off-road motor vehicle rolled on top of him at a Springwater Township farm near Barrie.
Dec. 2: Brian McConnell, 46, died when he became trapped in a corn picker in a row of corn in Kincardine Township, about 90 minutes northwest of Listowel. |
