The Grain Farmers of Ontario (GFO) published its response to the provinces discussion paper on neonicotinoid pesticides and pollinator health. Here are GFOs three recommendations: 1. Conduct a thorough cost-benefit analysis before reducing neonic use. 2. Return to dialogue with the agriculture industry and the pollinator task force to collaborate on real solutions that protect pollinators and the environment. 3. Abandon goal to reduce neonics by 80 %; support agri-industry-led approach that will work for grain farmers and beekeepers. |
