SMITHS FALLS — There’s a growing appetite for local food in the retail sector but farmers and potential buyers aren’t always on the same page.
OMAFRA is holding a one-day workshop in March to bring together farmers and small food processors to learn what potential grocery, restaurant, and school customers expect and address gaps in what is needed and when.
Ministry specialists in business management and development and food regulation and safety will be on hand at the selling food to Ontario workshops to discuss market channel opportunities, pricing for profit, and packaging and labelling.
