POMPEY — Empire Farm Days, the largest outdoor trade show in the northeastern U.S., returns to Pompey, New York, in early August.
The annual 3-day event runs from Thursday, Aug. 3, through Saturday, Aug. 5 on a sprawling acreage at Palladino Farms, 15 km southeast of Syracuse. Last year’s show, featuring more than 600 outdoor and indoor exhibitors, drew almost 16,000 visitors.
It’s the place to see new equipment and new field-crop demonstrations. Seminars will feature the expertise of soil health specialists, cattle handlers, horse trainers, and farm safety educators.
And there’s fun stuff, too. There’s a skid steer rodeo and a kids’ pedal-tractor pull.
Or roll up your sleeves and make your mark in the farmer Olympics that includes the sledge hammer throw, bale tossing, flipping tires and tossing eggs.
