STITTSVILLE — If you asked Richard Fraser to remember the date a tree limb fell and paralyzed him, he wouldn’t hesitate. “December 26, 1977.”
The dairy and crop farmer didn’t give up the business after the accident, running it mostly from the office with the help of his mother, two brothers, and sons.
The Stittsville-area farmer died on April 18, at the age of 70, after a brief illness. He was a graduate of Kemptville College class of 1966, and very active over the years in 4-H, Junior Farmers, the Ontario Federation of Agriculture, and the Ottawa Carleton Milk Producers Committee.
He is survived by his wife Jean, son Robert, and daughter Laura, as well as his mother, sisters, and brothers.
