For some, the end of summer means back to school, falling leaves and harvest. But for many dairy guys, it’s also the start of the Holstein show season.
Most counties hold their shows in August and September. In at least eight different counties, two of the top three cows were owned by the same farm.
Here are the grand champions, reserve and honourable mention cows from the 11 Eastern and East-Central county shows that took place in August and September. There are only two Eastern Ontario counties not included in this list. The Carleton-Russell show was scheduled to take place on Oct. 3 after Farmers Forum went to press, and Lennox & Addington did not have a county show this year.
