Eastern Ontario dairy farmer Nick Thurler resigned December 5 as Dairy Farmers of Ontario board member for Region 2.
“On behalf of DFO’s Board, we respect Nick’s decision and thank him for his service and dedication to the industry,” said DFO chair Murray Sherk. “During his time with the Board, Nick played an important role in many areas, in particular DFO’s Audit, Markets and Allocation, and Quota Committees, and on the DFO Board Executive. He was also a great asset to the P5 Quota Committee and previously served as Ontario’s representative on the Dairy Farmers of Canada Board. Nick brought practical insight into industry challenges and developed relationships across Canada that helped to move our sector forward. He remains a passionate advocate for our Canadian dairy system and the good work we do as dairy producers every day.”
Sherk added: “I would personally like to thank Nick for his contributions to the Board over his tenure of almost nine years.”
Farmers Forum has reached out to Sherk for comment.
