BLUEWATER — A Bluewater man faces impaired driving charges after a car plowed into the rear end of a broken down farm truck on St. Patrick’s Day.
The involved subcompact car was completely destroyed in the crash that happened shortly before midnight March 17 on Blackbush Line near Sararas Road. According to Huron County OPP, the driver displayed signs of impairment before being transported to a local hospital for assessment of minor injuries. He also provided breath tests that placed him over the lega blood-alcohol limit, according to the detachment.
Police report that Mitchell Smith, 28, has been released from custody with an April 11 court appearance in Goderich.
