KEMPTVILLE — Ag education is coming back to Kemptville Campus. The province announced funding for 20 seats in three new programs for high school students: agricultural technician; truck and coach technician; and heavy duty technician.
The push comes to help fill local labour demand.
The co-op programs, to begin in September 2021, will be offered by the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program to allow high school students to explore careers in the trades.
The former college’s main campus is now owned by the Township of North Grenville. A provincial prison will be built on the grounds of the former dairy farm.
