BURFORD — The OPP is asking farmers to be on the lookout after a $160,000 John Deere 7830 tractor was stolen from a farm on April 21.
Police say the tractor was left in the yard at a Burford farm, west of Brantford in Brant County, and the thief likely used a John Deere universal key.
Manufacturers typically build their products with universal keys. “This tractor was not re-keyed” said Brandt County OPP officer Ken Johnston. “Farmers should re-key their tractors when they get them.”
